That We Might Have Joy

Daddy let me sleep in this morning. Hurricane came into our room with the bucket of ice cream. I told him to go ask Daddy to help him hoping that Daddy would take the ice cream away and give them breakfast. When Underfoot came to ask if it was time to open our advent, it was time to get up. I was greeted with this face. And grabbed the camera.

And this face. (He's learned to eat a little more cleanly.)

The bucket of ice cream was ALL GONE.

I love the huge serving spoon they pulled out.
After the boys cleaned up the mess, we opened Day 2 - Adam and Eve and the choice they made in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 2:23-25, Adam and Eve were husband and wife.  What a great gift! To know that marriage is valued and given of God.

Adam and Eve were given a direction from God to multiple and replenish the earth and to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil; "nevertheless, [they] mayest choose for [themselves], for it is given unto [them]." Adam and Eve had to make a choice. The greatest gift from God is our freewill or agency.
Satan deceived Eve. Eve partook. Adam then ate to stay with his wife because he knew she couldn't stay in the Garden of Eden, and he would be alone. They cleaved together as they were commanded. They brought forth children and went to work which reminded me of this post.

Even though I woke up to a little mess, I had a chuckle. Adam and Eve made it possible for me to feel joy and misery. "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). We are "free to choose liberty and eternal life."

I am grateful to make choices and have great joy in two very resourceful boys.

Ice cream for breakfast? Why not? Last night on the way home we gave the kids a meat stick to snack on. CJ asked for another one. While trying to say she could wait for breakfast to eat again, she took it to mean she could have a meat stick for breakfast which, she took as an extremely funny idea. DD2 got up and the first things she asked was if CJ had gotten a meat stick for b'fast.
