Simple and Sweet: General Conference

As we approach LDS General Conference, we look forward to learning from prophets and apostles. For our preparation, we post the pictures of some of the men we know will speak and learn their faces, names, and something they did in their career or life. This practice has made the men and women speaking to us more real.

When it comes time to listen, we draw a picture and put their picture and our drawing together to remember what they talked about. After the April 2011 LDS General Conference, Underfoot continually talked about Elder Quintin L.Cook's talk about women and how incredible they are.

We have found this works for our family now. I am excited to spend time with my family for the weekend and to learn what I can do better as a wife, mother, daughter, and friend.

Great idea! I once did a little FHE where I had pictures of the favorite things of the first presidency...the kids had to guess: who's favorite color is yellow...who trains birds, who likes to fly airplanes, etc. It was fun, and i always remember those details now!

What a great thing to do, and I'm sure it all makes more sense to the kids when they have a sense of who is doing the speaking.

I love this idea! My two boys are still a little young for it though. I have posted a bunch of General Conference ideas on my blog for toddlers and preschoolers that they will be using during Conference. I will probably try to do this with my oldest son next year though.

Great idea! I'm sure it helps them pay attention and get something out of the conference!
