Finally Grown Ups

Ever since we married, we had a bed without a bed frame. We were kind of like graduate students (at least one of us was). We moved and no furniture. (We still don't have furniture in our front room besides 1 couch.)

We like to buy from yard sales or friends' garages that are storing great treasures. (My favorite name for a yard sale/garage sale is Tag Sale. It is something we saw when we visited Connecticut. I love it!)

So when I went on an adventure in February, I saw this great bed frame. I thought about it and thought about it and thought....(you get the picture). I finally called and bought the bed frame!
My Sweetheart was on an over night camp out with the Boy Scouts. The seller brought it to my house so I could set it up and surprise my Sweetheart. I attempted to make the change by myself but didn't have the balance to hold both sides while putting the frame together. In the morning, C came and helped me put it together! I was very appreciative! We cleaned our room and dejunked. It is now super clean.
My Sweetheart's reaction, "We are finally grown ups." So that is how you know you are a grown up.

No no, we can't all be growing up... ;) It looks very nice and I'm glad that it was well received by all.

What gorgeous furniture. I love that you surprised him with it. We don't have a single piece of furniture that wasn't bought second hand. It makes so much sense. Yeah for grownups!

The "real bed" was an indicator of grown-upness for us, too.

And it was a loooong time coming. (And also purchased from a previous owner!)

The name of my cousin's blog was "The Quest for the BBB" which stands for Big Boy Bed. Once he actually got a "big boy bed" he added the word "ongoing" before quest, but finally getting that "real" bed is definitely a sign of maturity. We'd been married 12 years before we got one; sometimes it just takes a while. So, congratulations to you! And it looks wonderful.

Rats. I thought I was finally a grown up. We'll have to wait a little longer, I guess!

Ha ha! Well, grown-ups...the bed is LOVELY! Nice job, Wendy! I am still using a free set that I got when I was single...but it was actually the "first married set" for someone's parents...so it's sorta sentimental...

Love the new frame. I have always liked that style. It will suit your family very well. You're so patience with decorating your home. Always looking for the right piece at the right price.
