Smiles

This week for our family night Underfoot taught us the lesson. He talked about the pledge of allegiance to the United States and said that is similar to a Title of Liberty. The Title of Liberty is a flag that was raised to defend God, religion, freedom, peace, wives, and children when there were men (king-men) who wanted to take those rights away.
Christmas 2009
He told us that his friends that we went to the zoo with sang the pledge and told him about it. He also has the influence of a Grandma that decorates in red, white, and blue.

Afterward, we were trying to get ready for bed and the tears came from both boys. It became a fight. Underfoot then did something brilliant. He started to sing. He LOVES to sing. All the time. He sings his prayers even. He sang the song Smiles. The song talks about turning a frown upside down.
Hurricane
We all began to relax and finished getting to bed. Sweetheart and I talked about it later. Underfoot is learning to control his temper. Lately instead of getting mad, I've started to sing. (Don't get me wrong singing isn't 100% fool-proof. I still do get angry.) Because of his singing, he changed the mood in our family.
Underfoot with a silly face
Underfoot mimics what we do. He watches and then without warning imitates. As he has continued to sing the same song over and over again, I am reminded of his teaching by example. If any of us start to get frustrated, we start to sing about smiling instead of frowning.
So today:
If you chance to meet a frown, do not let it stay.
Quickly turn it upside down and smile that frown away!

Puts a smile on my face! The girls had mentioned something about talking to him about the Pledge of Allegiance. I have one soaking in everything she can from big sister and another from both big sisters! Enjoy!
