Caramel Devil's Food Cake

Caramel Devil's Food Cake

1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs separated
1 cup milk
3 squares chocolate, melted
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt

Cream butter and sugar adding sugar gradually. Add beaten egg yolks, chocolate and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Fold in beaten egg whites.

Bake in 2 layers at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Note: The chocolate squares could be doubled to taste the chocolate.
