Broken Bones

We are here on earth to give us experience. In all things right? And the experience is to be for our good. Good can come from even broken bones....right?

In my experience, I've had a few broken teeth. Four front permanent teeth and 1 baby molar. That is all that I've broken. My boys on the other hand have broken 2 arms (same arm different spots) and a broken leg. Both around a year old. What horrible luck....or is it experience?

Underfoot with broken arm #1:

K2 with broken leg:
We like blue casts so that the general public will know they are boys. Especially since my boys don't grow hair until they are about 2 years old.

Here are a few of the experiences that has been for my good.
  • When Underfoot broke his arm the first time, the Holy Ghost told me it was broken. The doctor on the other hand said he didn't like to do x-rays on such little children. Well....I should have listened to the Holy Ghost and insisted on the x-ray. Unfortunately, we waited the prescribed time the doctor gave (1 week) before we went back and saw a different doctor who then helped us out. Listen to the Holy Ghost for the benefit of you and your children. That is one lesson for my good.
  • Children are resilient. Both boys cried and whined until their wounds were cast or bound. In the process though they loved to be held. They adapted their play so it wouldn't hurt. As a child of God, I too am resilient. I have awful set backs in life but know that there is hope. Even if I only hope for hope. I can adapt and change my "play" in life hopefully so it will bring me closer to God and not farther from Him.
  • I am my children's best advocate. I live with them. I feed them. I diaper them. I play with them. Hopefully I nurture the good within them. I love them. I have to have backbone to stand up for them and to stand by them in the good fight. Others may join the fight.
  • We have lousy luck with stairs. My Sweetheart says that is why we should never own a 2 story house. I don't know if that is a lesson or not, but currently we live in a single story.
These ideas aren't profound but insightful to me.

I'm sorry to say it, but those pictures of your kids in casts are TOO CUTE! :) And those are profound lessons! :)

Looks like you have learned from your experiences! Mothers are definitely their children's advocates and KNOW when something is wrong, particularly if they listen to the Holy Ghost.
