Freezing

Have you ever seen a plant do this acrobatic move?
Well....it is frozen. Completely and totally frozen. Since we live in the southwest and a desert, we except to get cold temperatures at night. And it is winter and so it is suppose to be cold, right? Yes. If you live north of the Mason-Dixon line. We have a had 14 nights with a wind of 20+ miles an hour. That makes it cold. With no snow. During the day the beautiful sun is shining and the world is to warm up. But only to 35 degrees with still the cold wind. Don't get me wrong. The cold is fun when you can crawl under a blanket and get warm. Drink warm cocoa. Eat hot soup. Bake so you can leave the oven door open to heat the house up.
I think it is really pretty. It looks like a star.

Our citrus tree are still young. They get wrapped up in a blanket as well with Christmas lights or a lamp to keep them warm. This last year we got over 2 dozen lemons, 2 oranges, and a few limes. Hopefully they will live through the hard freeze and share more fruit with us.

Looks like you're taking good care of those fruit trees. Hope they weather it well.
