Lazy Day Grasshopper Pie & Guest Post Brittny

My guest post today is from Brittny. When she introduced her family once she liken them to music that her husband is country and she is classical. They make beautiful music together. She loves to make pie herself. She has two fun loving children that you can check out on her blog The Jacobs.

Brittny & her family
"Our realization of what is most important in life goes hand in hand with gratitude for our blessings."

Every stake in Arizona had the opportunity to hear President Monson speak in Stake Conference this past Sunday.

I loved his message about gratitude and how we must serve each other and magnify our callings so that we can "rescue" those souls who need rescuing. I appreciate this message in a very personal way because there are souls in my own family who need rescuing - in truth, we all need rescuing, and I am eternally grateful for the processes inspired by a perfect God to bring His lost sheep back to the fold.

What strikes me about the idea of "rescue" is that it is the very heart and soul of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is a divinely-ordered way in which we are to help Heavenly Father gather and bring back His children, and as women, our part is so vital. We have the divine responsibility to teach our children everything they need to know and do to return and live with our Father in Heaven. This can be an incredibly overwhelming task, but we are never left alone. Our Father values each soul so much that He has given us sources of truth and counsel to guide us in our daily walk - scriptures, prophets, priesthood leaders, personal revelation. He would never entrust us to raise one of His precious children without access to knowledge and wisdom pertaining to each individual need.

I love to think about that. Every one of us is so loved by our Father in Heaven that He provided first a Savior for us to pave the way to eternal life, and with this He gave us the tools to access everything else we would need.

I am grateful for the rescuers - first, for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and for those who properly understand the great plan our Father in Heaven has for His children. I am so thankful for all of the resources our Father has given us to show us His love and help us love His children. I look at my little rambunctious 3-year-old son and hope that he has "rescuers" in his life who will see him as Heavenly Father sees him and look beyond the trouble concentrating or the seventeenth time he leaped up out of his chair in excitement. After all - each lost soul is someone's son, someone's brother, or in my case, someone's sister.

May we all be rescuers!

Thank you Brittny!

I am grateful that even in the midst of dark hours, there is still so much more to be grateful for that will help us reach out of the darkness.

Brittny, that talk was so inspiring wasn't it? It gave me a lot to think about too. I wish you could get transcripts of Stake conference.
