Traditions, Pie, & A Party

When my Sweetheart and I married, we talked about different traditions we would like to start in our budding family. I love the show "Fiddler on the Roof" with its beautiful music and the traditions that they hold for the hope of the Messiah coming. As we've learned about developing traditions, we began our first year with the Pie Party. We prepare some 24 pies and invite our family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to enjoy.

This year we will celebrate our 6th year. The idea was given to us by the Homer family who started their tradition while being stationed in Germany. They shared their left-overs with neighbors and other military families.

As I thought about tradition in my family, we celebrate holidays but more than that we have daily traditions such as family prayer and eating at the table together. Body K. Packer said,
If we will build righteous traditions in our families, the light of the gospel can grow ever brighter in the lives of our children from generation to generation. We can look forward to that glorious day when we will all be united together as eternal family units to reap the everlasting joy promised by our Eternal Father for His righteous children.

Our family activities and traditions can be a beacon to the rest of the world as an example of how we should live to merit His choice blessings and live in peace and harmony until the day that He returns to rule and reign over us.Here are a few of the party favors that could be yours! (Packer, Ensign, May 1990.)

As I thought about our coming celebration, I wanted to invite YOU to the party. So will participate in "30 Days of Pie?" My job will be to provide a different pie recipe each day and here and there a tradition we do. Your part is to get party favors and link-up to share your traditions and favorite foods.

Please participate in the party: Do one OR all of the following

1. Follow my blog and make a comment saying you have..

It's easy, just click on the button on the right side of my blog. (If you already follow me, leave that in a comment to receive a bonus entry!)

This is the giveaway for this coming Monday.

I will announce the winners on each Monday morning of the previous week's theme.

Week 4: Photos inspired by your Traditions

Enter the link-up parties by blogging about the themes and linking up each Wednesday.

I will give out prizes for the themed link-up parties and PARTY FAVORS for people who blog and COMMENT each day...so COMMENT...A LOT.
