- To remove white water marks from furniture or varnished surfaces, apply mayonnaise to sot, rub in, let stand an hour, then remove with soft cloth. Or make a paste of cigar ashes and cooking oil and use the same way.
- Black shoe marks on tile or linoleum? A small ice of cotton moistened with furniture polish and rubbed on spot quickly removes, and won't scratch as some cleaners do.
- With winter close at hand, wax the snow shovel well so the white stuff won't stick.
